  1. You are right, people are just fooled by thinking in HDR we can view billions of colors, but the reality is we can't. 16 million are only our capacity to see. Proven in labs where people start screaming when billions of colors are shown, they hurt too much and said that we can't see but it hurts. Nits= color, so 1000 nits or 10000 nits are false. Proven. HDR IS A FAKE TECHNOLOGY. Far away from reality.

  2. Thanks for this video. You say you have calibrated the tv's to the standard but not if you did with system console's settings. I don't have the ps5 but on ps4 it is a full White, Windows White and Black calibration.
I bet you did but it should be nice to mention it.
Btw I don't know how it works with ig settings, generally I can let defaults settings on ps4.

  3. the game may do some weird black level conversion stuff in hdr. Try creating a black level mismatch between playstation and ur tv. For example if u set rgb to full on ps5 set black level to low on ur lg oled and it should be correct.

  4. After having bought a PS5 and 4K TV to enjoy gaming in HDR, I‘m really disappointed in game-maker‘s ability to use it effectively. I‘m currently playing Assassin‘s Creed Valhalla, and it’s the same mess. Shame.

  5. Hey Vincent, would love to see your analysis of Resident Evil village’s presentation and calibration. I’m using an old SDR TV but can never really seem to get things right. I suspect the creative intent is a darker presentation to hide things in the shadows and make the game feel more tense and scary.

  6. I think hdr is a gimmick, however some movies do look good in hdr but in general sdr is better the colors are more vibrant, it really depends on the content your watching, but going out and spending thousands of dollars on a new tv for the best hdr experience is the gimmick, sdr will still have better more vibrant color.

  7. Checked your video(they are awesome btw), can i know why most Games have SDR range even in HDR ? Where is the point ? And in that case, is HDR overated on Games ?

  8. These are the essential settings to fix hdr Cyberpunk on the LG CX: hdr game mode, black level auto, dynamic tone mapping on, brightness 41, Peak luminance 730, midpoint 5.0, paper white 250. With these settings I get real blacks without crush and beautiful hdr color spectrum and highlights

  9. @HDTVTest / Vincent
Can you please do an HDR test video when Cyberpunk patch 1.2 is released in the next few days? Unfortunately, there is no mention of HDR in the release note, but maybe they finally fixed it.

  10. Hello I have Samsung NU7400 , what is the best choice for picture quality in games on my PS5. HDR or SDR ? I think like my TV have low HDR mode , i need any improve in settings or it's just low and i turn HDR completely OFF? please help..sry for english

  11. I have been doing some testing with Hitman 3 as well. for some reason the in-game HDR is washed out. So I turned it off, the HDR applied by the Ps5 itself is much, much better than both SDR and in-game HDR. It is case by case scenario.
